Public sector organisations often assume that using a search firm for a senior appointment means a procurement exercise that takes longer than the search. It does not have to.
What the framework is
RM6229 is the Crown Commercial Service framework for permanent recruitment services across the public sector. Lot 2 covers non-clinical general recruitment, including senior and executive appointments. Suppliers were assessed on capability, process and value before being admitted. re:find is a named supplier.
What it means for you
A public body can call off the framework directly, using the CCS terms, without running its own tender. The procurement work has been done centrally. What remains is a short call-off, usually a few pages, and the search brief.
What the search looks like
The same as any re:find search. A brief written with you, a market map of typically eighty to a hundred and twenty people, direct approaches, structured assessment, a shortlist of five, a fixed fee agreed before we start. Public sector searches often carry additional requirements: a public advertisement alongside the direct search, a defined panel process, diversity monitoring. We build those in.
Recent work
A Head of Reward and Performance for a UK statutory regulator during a period of law reform, filled quickly against a shortlist reviewed for quality and diversity. A confidential first-of-a-kind shared services leadership role for a university. Senior HR and transformation roles across regulated and public-facing organisations.
Advisory work under the framework
Lot 2 is a recruitment lot, so the advisory services, executive team reviews, succession reviews and benchmarking, are scoped separately. Where an appointment follows advisory work, the search itself can run through the framework.
If you are a public body with a senior appointment on this year's plan, the first step is a twenty-minute conversation about the role and the call-off route. We have done enough of them to make the paperwork quick.
