Transforming HR and Finance Systems for a Federated Business

Client: A global company with 17,000 employees that had been through significant M&A

Scope of Work:

  • Implementation of Oracle Cloud HCM
  • Microsoft Dynamics Finance implementation
  • N-Able/N-central implementation support

The Challenge

Our client, a leading company in Europe, faced significant challenges in modernising its HR and finance systems to support its global operations. With 17,000 employees spread across multiple countries, the company needed to enhance its operational efficiency and ensure seamless integration of its various functions. The key areas of focus were:

  1. HR Transformation: Implementing Oracle Cloud HCM to streamline HR processes, improve employee experience, and ensure compliance with global regulations.
  2. Finance Modernisation: Integrating Microsoft Dynamics Finance to enhance financial reporting, planning, and analysis capabilities.
  3. IT Infrastructure Support: Assisting the business with the deployment of N-central for better IT management and automation.

Our Approach

To address these challenges, we placed three key roles within the client’s organisation:

  1. Programme Lead for Oracle Cloud HCM Implementation:
    • We placed an experienced Programme Lead to oversee the entire Oracle Cloud HCM implementation. This role involved coordinating with various stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring the project stayed within budget.
    • The Programme Lead’s expertise was crucial in navigating the complexities of migrating from legacy systems to a cloud-based solution, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
  2. Change Lead for Microsoft Dynamics Finance Implementation:
    • Understanding that the success of the finance system implementation depended heavily on user adoption, we provided a Change Lead to focus on managing the change process.
    • The Change Lead developed and executed a comprehensive change management strategy, which included communication plans, stakeholder engagement, and training programs to ensure a smooth transition.
  3. Training Consultant:
    • To support both the HR and finance transformations, we introduced a Training Consultant who was responsible for working with the SI partner to support designing and delivering training programs tailored to the needs of different user groups within the company.
    • The Training Consultant’s role was vital in ensuring that employees were well-equipped to use the new systems effectively, thereby maximising the benefits of the new technology investments.
  4. Support for N-central Implementation:
    • We worked closely with the business to provide expert guidance and support for the implementation of N-central, a powerful IT management platform. Operating under a statement of work.
    • Our support included strategic advice, technical support, and helping the IT team to leverage N-central’s capabilities to improve network management, automate routine tasks, and enhance overall IT service delivery.


The combined efforts of our placed Programme Lead, Change Lead, and Training Consultant, along with our support to the business, led to significant positive outcomes for the client:

  • Enhanced HR Efficiency: The Oracle Cloud HCM implementation streamlined HR processes, leading to improved employee experience and greater operational efficiency.
  • Improved Financial Management: The Microsoft Dynamics Finance system provided the client with better financial insights, enabling more informed decision-making and stronger financial control.
  • Seamless IT Operations: The deployment of N-central improved IT management and automation, reducing downtime and enhancing the overall performance of the company’s IT infrastructure.
